Hey all, I was able to get out for a few hours on Friday. It was sunny out but cold with a high of about 36 and a little breeze. I decided to fish up the river to say out of the wind. I launched in the west fork and went to a few of my favorite river bends and threw about everything. I even tried www.secretweaponlures new wiggle rig and only had a couple bites. I missed them because I am not used to hook sets on a drop shot. I figured out you really dont need to cross their eyes on a drop shot. Anyhow as I was running down the west fork i drove over a huge ball of shad. I turned around and picked up my jigging spoon and immediately caught a 17" KY Spot, guessing 3lbs maybe. That is a huge Spot for Percy priest. I stayed there for 2 hours whacking fish. I caught several more KY Spots, 5 crappie over 11", bluegills and a 10lb carp. All those fish came out of the middle of the shad ball. If you got outside the ball you did not get bit. until next time, tight lines
