I can say it was a good day overall. It was great weather for a duck. I had a guide trip scheduled from 9-1 but with the rain we did not get out until about 11 or so. So from 9-11 I fished around the Fate Sanders cove and did really well. I started out on the left hand bank leading into Fate Sanders and had 3 keepers in about 15mins on a Chompers jig 1/4 oz, brown/purple flash. I moved over to the channel markers and had 2 more keepers on the same jig. I had 6 keepers in all for about 13-14lbs for my best 5. My trip started at 11 and we went back behind Fate Sanders and fished the flats and minimal luck. We caught a few short white bass and rock fish and a few dink bass. From there we headed up lake and started fishing crappie stakes and laydowns for crappie. Just about every stake bed we went too we caught a crappie or two but they were small. Later that afternoon about 3 we fished the mouth of spring creek with Chrome rattle traps and started catching some nice 2-3 lb Strip or hybrids. All in all it was a decent day with a mix of fish. We caught largemouth, spots, hybrids, crappie and a few bluegill. Thanks to George and his son for a good day on the lake. You can see some pics later this week on www.briancarper.com website.
